In many countries the textile mills are closing down (eg indonesia etc.)

Is this really good for competition world.

If in such owners in different country decide closing of the mills, there will be monopoly of few sellers after some time

You belongs to China. How many mills are closed in your country?I belongs to India, there are about 195 mills in south tamilnadu, all the mills have been modernised. Even the sickmills are nursed by the government. In Indonesia, we have not come across closure of textile mills in news. Your message is not authenticated and there are many  subjects to discuss, clarify and learn.

Replying to [curdrice]: Thanks for the suggestion but my information about Indonesia is based on correct sources of information.

I am not speaking about only about a particular sector but as a whole. Surely there also many industries getting affected by the imports. When we speak of broad term, then we have to take many things in onsideration.

Dear Balu1234

Textile is one of the locomotive industries for most countries.
Maybe those closed in Indonesia were effected by some mismanagements,or natural disasters that take place very often in Indonesia..

Monopoly in textile in the world..? Seems almost impossible..No worries at all..

Dear Yarenimex,

I did nt mean absolute monopoly. What I mean is that  closing of smaller mills will gradually lead to market controlled by lesser players.

Also survival of smaller players becomes very difficult.

Dear Balu1234,

Survival is the main problem for all small producers or manufacturers in all sectors, not only in textile. It is a fact of globalization.

While a small manufacturer does well in his market, a big capital-owner comes into his market and he either buys his business or invest the same business with larger facilities and latest technology and finishes the small manufacturer soon.

Dear Yarenimex,

You are right. The bigger production houses create surplus and start a price war and smaller units are harmed.

In this situation of open market, how  can a country save the small units of their country.

Dear Balu1234,

Seems no way for them to be able to exist other than to unite their resources and power of manufacture, and to try overseas market sales and exports

Dear Yarenimex,

The idea is good.

Also another way can be that their government promote the good units to expand and also help the industry with export incentives. Just a suggestion.
