One way is to prepare a product list of your inventory and details about your company you want to include. Then send the file to them via trade manager so when they do have the time to look it over they will get back to you.[em3]

One thing to keep in mind, is to only contact buyer's who want to buy products related to your stock. When you start the conversation, introduce yourself, and present what products your manufacture makes. List a few unique products to get some attention from them. But don't keep sending them a message every 15 sec if they don't reply from the start. This will only irratate, if they needed respond from the start, then they don't want to respond.

You leave them message, try to take there email address and send them email, many peoples don't like when they are working and some one is sending them files, it irritates them..
So simple, Greet them politely and ask them for there E-mail address, and send them email with complete details.

Replying to [chloe]: Keep a profile your your company ready with the catalogue.

You can offer the same when you meet a person when he meets you first time on trade manager.

This reflects your interest and seriousness of doing business with the contact.

Dear Chloe,

I have many invitations to the Trade Manager chats, and in my busy schedule, have not the luxuary of time to chat over petty things like the weather or helping someone to improve his or her English.

You should ask: "What not to do when inviting someone to chat over the Trade Manager."

  1. Do not tell him or her that you want to improve your language, or belittle yourself by saying my England is not so powderful.
  2. Go straight to the point, skip the pheripherals of authencious greetings.
  3. Study the person you want to chat with first. If you have allowed the person to your TM, look into their company profile, and click on the link to view their company while chatting with him or her.
  4. Never jump straight into pushing your products, like one I had recently, trying to offer free samples of NIKE Shoes. He is from Fujian Province and showed me the website, but without any physical address. Further questions reveal nothing, and I have to cut him off.
  5. Some chats are educational, like one I had with a Miss Yao who writes in German and communicates well in English also.
  6. Some chats are used to pass information, like the one I had with Miss Grace Zhang, where we were communicating on our requirement for the products and clarify with her the drawings and dimensions.
  7. Of course in the TM chats as in the forum, we must maintain ethical discipline, never to use abusive language or vulgar words.

Keep in mind to use guidelines like the great info street smart provided. If you are sending a product list always be sure to have the other side agree to look it over at some point otherwise you are wasting yours and their time. If you act proffesional and they are interested with doing business with you then they will contact you. In the mean time why not meet new contacts and learn further about your business.
