Absolutely. Would rather work extra hard myself, than employ somone lazy or dishonest.

If you definitely need an assistant, and those are the two options, you need to keep looking for more candidates.

Keep looking for no.3 !

When looking for an assistant I always insist first and foremost that the person can run the show in my absence, if necessary, after say a minimum half-year on-job training. Therefore the person I'd look for have to be a fast learner, able to interact effectively with and have respect for customers/superiors, resourceful, and above all have no record of dishonesty.

If can only make choice between the two, I suggest the No.1. Good nature is the essetial qualification to a assistant, you can improve the side of his weakness. Or looking for the compound one. Good nature plus capable=the assistant you need

Sorry about the blank post.  I can't get rid of it.  That is why it is still there.  Anyways, I think that while they both posses good qualities, their drawbacks are something you're not going to be able to afford having on board if you want to have an elite company that gets things done. People like that really don't know how to be a good personal assistant, rather they leech off everyone else. The proud one will make others feel bad and sometimes refuse to do something he/she is to proud to do. The slow one wont get things done on time.

Here is a good site for personal assistants that wont back talk and have things done on time:
