Having some problems with translators--Please help!

These days, our company always have overseas customer visit our factory to get more information, especial price..
and sometimes they will come with translator, okay, I know he or she will help my overseas customer close to our product, but maybe some customer don't know the translator always ask us to add commision when we calculate the price.
I think they are translator, then the customer must had pay for their work, so why they also ask us to add the commistion?
Till to now, I am so puzzle, because one customer give me his target price, and we can do it if we donot add commistion for the translator, but he asked, so if we place this order, then we will no profit, maybe will lose. because we have to pay the translator....I really don't know can I contact the overseas customer direactly and tell him the truth...
PS: this overseas customer find our factory himself by internet, and the translator don't know anything about our product, sometime, I have to discuss to the customer ourself, and he just tell me to add commision for him in Chinese, and sit there..

If the translators brings the customers to you, and have informed you of their commission before hand, I think it's appropriate to include their commission.
But if the customer finds and contacts you first, and bring along the translator when they visit you, I think you could ignore their reqeust for commission.

You're English is good enough, that you can explain this to the buyer themselves. Explain to them that they are welcome to bring a translator, but they have to tell the translator that there is no commission.
The buyer will be on your side, if you are open and honest with them.
However, if you tell them after, maybe they won't believe you, or get angry when you start blaming their translator for the higher price.
Do you think that would work?

First, I offer the customer price include the translator commision, and then the customer give me his target price, and I talk to the translator, if he don't ask the commision, I can accept the buyer's price, but he insist on it...so I have nothing to do...

In my opinion, I think the translater and the customer are testing you! Now that you know it's the customer find your company frist, why you agree with the translater to add more price?

Hello, Yin W, you might not feel comfortable to turn down the translator's request directly, or might be afraid that he/she would say some bad things of you to the customer if you refused. I think it's better for us to follow right principles and make up our decisions.
When the translator asked you in Chinese to include commission for him/her, you might tell the customer, in English, in front of the translator, of this request and ask for his clarification.
You could still update your offer to the customer now, with remarks that it's your net price without any commission to his translator.

Replying to [Yin W]: Tell the translator politely and very diplomatically that he has not done any work to earned a commission. On the other hand you will be happy to offer him employment as a commission only agent where he will bring his own customer and earn his commision. Best of luck.

ok, anyway, I also like to make myself clear about this case..
In all reply, I conside maybe next time, I can tell the customer direct in english when the translator ask commission.
and if the buyer is bring by the translator, then we can aggree to add commission.
Have any other good idea???

That sounds like the best and also the fairest idea. You find them, no commission, someone else finds them, commission.

Sometime the translator will not ask the commission, but the guider from the trading company will ask.... and we will agree when they ask...but this time...
