Hello everyone,

I click on links with videos of the factories as I like to see where the product is coming from. However, when I speak to some of the agents their e-mail/msn is usually a hotmail account which suggests they are not working directly for the company and rings alarm bells for me.

How can I get to speak to the factory direct? This applies to all kinds of different products as I am willing to import various items. Any tips would be appreciated.

Many thanks,

Mark. [em17]

Replying to [Norfy]:hello sir

it really deponds on what you want to import. for my experience, i search wii consoles for a client of mine, when i found most of the suppliers are trading companies and wholesales, whoes price are much higher than that of on ebay. however, some items are easy to be found and easy to contact the factories. should you have some need helps in China, you could contact me, i am a manufacturer of PC peripheral.[em17]

Maybe you need to search more information about the company you are interested in. Or you can search them on www.baidu.com?

Replying to [Norfy]: Speaking to a factory direct in China is usually very uncommon as it is more beneficial to them in reducing costs to eliminate a large sales staff. This is why so many of the manufacturers use trading companies that have resources dedicated to finding and developing trade leads. Many western companies are going this route as well as they negotiate with distributors to market their products thus reducing the size of sales and marketing staffs and use the money for product devlopement and research.

In addition to what Ranger mentions above some factories actually choose to deal exclusively through trading companies as trading companies can sometimes get tax rebates much faster than the factory can. So if the factory has an in house export department then they need to wait longer for the cash than if they let an outside company handle things for them. It just makes more sense for them to do without the hassle of having their own export department while also getting the financial benefits of letting others deal with the statutory issues etc.

Replying to [Norfy]: Now the working office is seperated with production department, so you are impossible to the production line, only if you can pay the visit to the factory! In alibab, most of "factory" are not really "factory", they are all mid man! As big factory they had fixed customers, and their orders are fullly booked. So in china there are many small factories, but with no english speakingman, so they need rely on mid man to sell their products at a lower price! For the customer, who hope to buy various kinds of products, you should rely on mid man, as they have more products for your choossing and more factores can give them a lower price than you get from a big factory!

Hello Mark,

You may try to have a local sourcing agent / assistant in China, who can hlep you reach real manufacturers, get the best quotations from most reliable suppliers. And generally sourcing agent only charge fixed margin, which is transparent to the buyers. It is one of the best way to reach and communicate with the real manufacturers. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us Email removed by admin.

Good Luck!

Additionally, bear in mind that some factories do not have their own websites or email systems, and therefore the staff just use hotmail.

Also remember that to us msn, you need to use a webbased email (yahoo/gmail/hotmail...)
