I got a supplier in china who sent me a package through ups recently, but ups called me telling me they're holding the package and that I need a license to import that brand. They told me that if the shipper may have it will be fine, but I dont know if the shipper has it. And to get a license with that brand is almost imposible you gotta buy like 100,000 monthly and Im just starting up. any suggestions please.

I suspect that what you have had sent is a Copy of the Brand name item.

Any Brand name item you want to sell, (copies or genuine) you will need to get a licence from the brand name owner, as customs will seize such items at the border and you loose your money.

Replying to [Jordanicolas]:Go and get the brand license. if not, you had better to ask your supplier to send you the invoice for you.

As Harry has stated, you need to get a brand license other-wise you can get a law-suit against yourself I believe from the buyer's that you sold them to. You must first get permission from the brand company, so you can legally import legal copys of the brand electronic.

Hi...As far as I know from your post, I guess your order contains something about copy right.
In my working experience, most of the goods are COPR items, i mean those name branded items, for example, SONY, or apple IPOD..the suppliers copys the items only, they don't have the authority...So it is impossible for them to send you a license.

So the courier is afraid that they will get some customs troubles if the supplier send you the copy items.

I have the full working expericened on this subject.
I am willing to help you out on this if you do believe me.
For your reference, I am the agency of some importers.
So I know how to solve this kind of toubles when I am facing that.

My email: buyingoffice@163.com
feel free to let me knwo if I can be of any help.
