Fung Shui - is this important for company growth?

Numbers and Dates

Businesses and career people alike, are cautious about an auspicious date to do some significant event, like getting married for example.

The Chinese would not get married on odd months, they will choose a date in the months of: 2, 6, 8, 10 and 12 for the lunar months.

Business people considered some numbers to be 'lucky-numbers' and some to be dreaded and avoided.

These numbers are: 8, 9 13, 22, 88, 99 or their vibrations. For the westerner, the number 13 is considered as something bad, started from Jesus with his twelve deciples, and one of the turned out to be His betrayer.

What is your take on this?

Hello wilhelm:

The Chinese language has no direct English word or alphabets and this is same with Korean transliterated into the English pronounciation. It is very much unlike the Japanese, where there are true pronounciation of every phonetic.

E.g. Busan may also be spelt as Pussan, or Pusan. Heilongjiang may also be spelt as Hei lung Kiang.

We do not take this seriously as to be marked as wrong in our written essay.

I am sorry to ask, I see too late how it will be pronounced ![em8]

Feng shui (pronounced "fung shway") is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. The literal translation is "wind and water".

Singapore Casino at Island of Santosa

The Singapore Government is secular, yet has beliefs on the Feng Shui.

Last year there were heated debates and much forum discussions over the pros and cons of the opening of Game and Recreation Center with Gambling Casino. This is to be located on an island called Santosa.

The present Prime Minister mentioned that this location will be good Feng Shui, with the mountain behind and the water in front. Good balance of Earth and Water, which is also interpreted as wealth or money. Hong Kong island has similar setup of Feng Shui, and the HSBC building is designed and constructed in auspicious manner in consultation with the Feng Shui master... HSBC became the most prosperous bank in Hong Kong and around the world, except in Istanbul, two years ago the entire facade of the HSBC building was obliterated by a suicide bomber.

Believe it or not, it does go along with other signs and influences, such as Numbers, the Yin and Yang, Names, and date of birth or year and time of birth of a person or a corporation.

Replying to [Street Smart]:I agree with what you have indicated. However it naturally follows that if a person should make a special study of any one subject, from long experience, cultivation and studious research, he will in the end unravel at least to some extent the so called mysteries of the subject on which he has so concentrated his attention.

To the student of Art, art reveals her mysteries of colour, form, design, pose and a thousand and one subtleties that escape the ordinary observer. To the student of Botany every leaf tells its own story every tree its age every flower its own pedigree

It is admitted by many that the occult side of things has been the one side of life the least explored or investigated That there is an occult or hidden part in actual relationship to human life is on every side a conceded fact but before this mystery the greatest of all the majority of thinkers have held themselves aloof....

Hi rhohson,

Different cultures, numbers mean different 'aurora' to people.

Number thirteen (13) is considered a good sign of success to the Chinese. The Cantonese vocalization of the number 13, sounds like 'certain life-sign' and this has been experienced in Historical events. However, the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans (those of the East Asian stocks) dread the number 4. It sounds like the word meant for 'death'. In mandarin, the number 4 has lesser morbidity than the Cantonese, Fujian and number of  dialects. Singapore has a General Hospital, that is located in a district called 4-Notice Park, translated into Chinese. This hospital is the oldest in Singapore history, and in the past the mindset is 'death if you are admitted to the wards.'

Biblically, numbers do occur as in pattern and has their connotations. For example:

  • The number 7 is always associated with God, the Father and in completness.
  • 3 is associated with the TRINITY, and Jesus. He hung on the cross with 2 other people, and there are numerous references to the 3: Peter's denial three times and the appearance of Moses, Elijah with Jesus.
  • Number 40 is associated with death, the period of mourning for the dead is 40 days. 40 years the Israelites wondered in the wilderness before entering into the Promise Land.
  • 666 the number for the Anti-Christ, the beast that rose from the sea.

That's all for now.  Street Smart
