it looks that you are so familier with traditional Chinese enbroidery. you make me think of my mother.
she often make handmade cotton shoes for my family when i am young. these shoes are really very comfortable compared with today's high-heel shoes or other leather shoes.for a long time i haven't wear the cotton shoes my mother made for me, because i can not often back to my hometown and my family.only when i have holidays and can be back to home, can i enjoy such comfortable times with my family wearing the cotton shoes made by my mother.
she often made such shoes to babies of my cousins and other relatives. also she will make for the babies from surroundings.
the cotton shoes my mother make really quite well. she also make clothes and hats with tiger head on them as you mentioned above. besides, there are other designs, such as kinds of flowers,birds, etc on the insole, sole and hat. these desighs are all out of my mother hand. my mother first draw these patterns ,then embroider according to these patterns with different color thread.
