Quoting from [Madhur_Agarwal]:

I appreciate your question.
I think the main problems are following:-
1. Reputation of China as lower quality producer.
2. Fear of cheating.
3. Absence of a body which could filter the genuine sellers.
4. Chinease should resist going to lowest quality even when asked.
5. Lack of Transparency in System.
Thank you Agarwal,
Lower quality is in par with the lower cost price, but I feel that more pertinent matter is the copying of branded products.
Apple Computers who makes the IPOD lost a legal suite from Creative Technology (CT), and as a result, all IPODS has to pay license fees to CT for every unit made. However those IPODs made in China do not pay for this license and they will be confisicated by Customs if sold to the US or any Western markets.
You mentioned Fear of cheating by who? Apparently most, if not all Chinese companies demand payment by t/t in advance. Is this the fear of cheating by Chinese companies? The reason behind this is the lack of trust.
Lets suggest a 'watchdog body' or a whistle-blower in every company who exports out of the country. Perhaps the credit rating or ranking of individual companies will pacify the fears of getting scammed by fake companies.
Going for the lowest price is the pressure put upon by the buyer, and in the midst of intense competition.
Lack of transparency in which system? the government or the company or both?
