Whilst the demand from China should not be ignored, I think the amount of wastage in Western countries (particularly America), suggests that China's market share in terms of food consumption is not as large as it is population wise.
Therefore, it won't have so much of an affect. Sadly, it may simple mean that suddenly the poor in China cannot afford to eat well, and the rich just to pay slightly more than before for their food.
