Since you are not the person I had orginally posted to about fly and buy, I would ask if you have the documents required to enter China.  1)  A letter of inviatation from the manufacturer and 2) a letter of Invitation from Foriegn Ministry Department of Commerce?  Without these you can not enter China.  From your postings I can see that you are eager to complete a deal, however it seems as you do not fully understand payment terms, types of payment, nor incoterms.  Before you put money into booking a trip it would be best if you had a firm understanding or your trip even with the letters could prove to be disaterous.

oh yes I do have these. They are important. i also have a F Visa, when I first went to China I had an L visa but I still bought items. My wife is also chinese. You see other times i have bought I never made huge purchases so now I am ready to do that!
Sorry about the other post, i did not read exactly what you wrote because I was so happy to get a reply! Yes a letter of invitation is required with the F visa.
Ok now that we got that out of the way, how does the actual transaction work with t/t? (i negotiate prices, make a deposit via t/t? )

Why make a deposit only?  If you have negotiated the price inspected the goods and they meet your requirments and you have arranged for shipping and documentation why would you not authorize your bank to pay via T/T in Full?, or if you are arranging the shipping you could pay 100% TT EXW and have the freight forwarder pick up from site while your on-site or 100%T/T with proof of FAS.  either way your supplier must provide the ncessary documents for clearing goods for export.

T/T is a simple process in that on demand your bank sends funds via wire transfer to the suppliers bank.   You can ask the supplier if they have a registered sister company in HK making the payment process a little simpler in that the transfer may not have to go through an intermediary Bank where additional charges can be incurred during the transaction as an incoming handling charge.

Best regards,

If you're buying in person, no need to use T/T, just pay CASH.

T/T means wire transfer from your bank to the factory's bank account. You have to pay banking charges or intermediary charges for the money transfer service.
