Would like to know if you especially Caucasian can accept Chinese branded products. If one day the Chinese brands are proven to be better than the international brand can you accept it? Example would you accept a brand name like LiNing, Anta or 361Degree if they are proven to be better than Nike, Reebok, Mizuno and others.
Can you accept a brand like XingDa or ECE for your electrical appliances instead of the familiar brand like Philips, Tefal, Braun, Hitachi or Panasonic? Why other Asian brands especially from Japanese are well accepted? Taiwanese brand like Acer and BenQ are both of Chinese origin and it is manufactured in China too, do you accept this brand because of the brand name is some kind of a European name or because of the strong advertisement?

How come Korean brand with such a Korean name like Samsung, Hyundai, Kia are well accepted and some of the Chinese brand which the quality is of world standard find it so difficult to be accepted by the world. To me the Chinese brand gave an impression that it is meant for low cost and low quality. Even they provide a better quality with a reasonable pricing it is just accepted as a low cost and cheapskate products.

The fact is it is very difficult to find a good Chinese electrical/electronics appliances or toys in South East Asia, I not sure about other countries, maybe the importer from our country just import the lowest grade. To quote an example, the most Chinese products that I purchased are toys for my kids. Every time when I purchase I told myself if the toys can last for one week than it is worth it, knowing my kids would get bored from it very fast. However most of the time the toys ( battery operated ) would not even last for one week.

You hit the nail right on the head in your last paragraph.

I have seen it personally all too often.

Importers, Wholesalers, Distributors around the world want to make huge profits and buy the cheapest they can in China. Even to a point where they get a price from the manufacturer, then negotiate downwards. The only option the manufacturer has, is to use cheaper raw materials.

I usually go to a manufacturer and tell him exactly the quality I want, then ask him for his best price. I make SURE that I tell him that quality is MOST important, so please quote me according to the quality I need, rather than a cheaper price.

That way 99%of the time, I get exactly what my customers want

Replying to [David Frencken]: Ha i dont think this is going to be happening in my life time and im 17. We buy from China because they are cheap. You cant make products cheap if they are good quality because quality comes with a cost. Chinas reputation on products is in the gutter and theres little hope in reviving itself to brands better than Samsung. Even if their quality was better, most people buy products because of the reputation of the name on that product.

Even Asians generally cannot yet accept China 'brands', the more knowledgeable ones may buy some items only because they're cheap. A good brand is not simply about the product name, or trademarks or logo , or how big the factory is, etc etc..

I think a really good brand is usually backed by strong corporate image, good sales, marketing and distribution network, quality control, and investments in people and technology. [em22]

-When my father was a little boy, crappy toy cars had "made in Japan" in them.
-When I was a little boy, crappy toy cars had "made in Taiwan" in them.
-When my son was a little boy, crappy toy cars had "made in China" in them.

Even it doesn't ring the bell of greatness now, give it few years, people are quick to forgive.

Haha....I like you example on the crappy toys, when I was small the little crappy toys were either from HongKong, Taiwan or Singapore but there are very much durable than those we have now.

To me the Chinese branded like LiNing, Anta and 361degree is as good as Nike, Reebok or Fila. It is just that foreigner can't accept it, I have purchased all these brands that I mentioned above, confirmed it is equal if not better. All this while China is using super cheap and low quality products to penetrate the world and now everybody was used to that. If any company in China want to start to manufacturer high end product, it is very tough for them. All these Chinese sports attire brands are only sold in China to local and the pricing are slightly higher than those common brands if you purchase it in the US. They are not cheap but I can assure you that the quality is good. But for a foreigner to buy those items at a higher price it make so sense at all. I wanted to try out and compare the quality so I bought 4 shirts and a pair of shoes, I am satisfied with the quality, but if you want to go for trend a fashion in out own country than it make no sense
