A Guide to doing business with Nigerians
Post 42 of 373
Replying to [Honest Nigerian]:[em19] This is very good information, I have not yet, but and working toward a long term business relationship with Nigeria. I know there is a great market for exporters like myself, I agree that you have to use common sense. Patience is also required, I to wonder how anyone can order a large amount of product ( that they have not tried ). With goes for not just Nigeria but everywhere. Business is about the facts. How can you get pass that trust facter when your ( buyers ) will not make a small/sample order first. I ask all my ( buyers ) to place a small order first and even offer to add some extra product ( at no cost to them) on the order. So how is it that trust can be gained on both sides?????

These prices should have been a huge red flag:

It's completely unrealistic and typical of scammers.

Replying to [Losijr]: it's all about business sense, if the prices are too good to be true why waste your time doing business with such people, a good example is this offer

http://www.alibaba.com/catalog/11408573/Panasonic_AJ_SPX800_Video_Camera.html

A Professional Digital Broadcast camera is purported to be selling for $3500 ???

The least price you can get for this camera anywhere is $14,000. Even Panasonic can't sell it for $10,000 yet people fall for such cheap bait as this.

1. Always do your research very well
2. try to lower your Greed Quotient (GQ)
3. Where the lines are fuzzy, only take risk you can afford losing
that will safe you a lot of heartaches

The site www.nnpc-comdgroup.com has most likely been set up by scammers. The NNPC "contract award" is a very common type of Nigerian scam, just do a Google search on "NNPC contract scam" or something similar. You can see that most of the content on the site is copied from the legitimate NNPC website www.nnpcgroup.com, you can follow their anti-fraud advice here:

http://www.nnpcgroup.com/news/scamalert.htm

Forward this email you received to scammaster@nnpcgroup.com, hopefully they will have the time to tell you that this is completely fake.

"Sounding honest" is their job, and usually all they are good at. You can't get LCD TVs (or any kind of expensive consumer electronics) from Nigeria at anywhere near good prices, they do not manufacture them. You will most likely get scammed.
