Yes, there are African members in Alibaba. I got some inquiries from African countries. One from South Africa that sounds rather serious but the people seem to be taking a long time to decide about the purchase. The second is from a West Africa country, they were interested but now they keep changing the product they want, conditions and the price, we had all settled and ready for documents to be signed and suddenly it was over, now they require different products, quantities and prices almost on a daily basis. And a third one, also from West Africa, is not so willing to follow the procedures stated by the seller.
I also have contacted some people from Egypt but the product we have is not exactly what they are looking for, so I informed them that and we remain in contact, just in case we can provide the product they are looking for.
Bottomline, I think that there are honest men all over the world. Sometimes we are lucky enough to go straightfoward and honestly and get to know one of these honest men, regardless of the continent they are doing business from.

We handle it by operating in the UK and letting our African businesses put their requests and replies through us. We make the payments from the UK and get the goods shipped directly from/to Africa. A bit clumsy but it works for us. People prefer making and receiving payments with a UK based company they can check.on. You do need to have some trusted people on the ground in Africa.

I'm from ivory coast,in west africa and based in Taiwan.My wife is taiwanese and we have a small business in Import/Export .We aim to deal with every country but more Africa particularly in Ivory coast.
There have also some factories who offer good quality products like latex Hand gloves for household and industries.
