Develop your own brands?
Post 1 of 21
Dear Friends,

I have found it much more difficult to develop your own brand nowadays unless you are either very lucky or you are very rich. It is unarguable that nowadays teens start to stereotype brands.....and various brands represent various meaning.....e.g. nobleness for LV, casual for Ape, and even thiefs talk about brands....(they like Burberry).....

so, as you may have found, new brands always wither, as ppl rarely give them a chance.....what do you think?

well it is not as hard as it seems firss of all is you have to find the best manufacturer . This will take some effort but you need to study whta is you wnat to be produced I can help you get things done it is actually the bets way to go. having you own is the way to go most people buy just because it is new.Which to me does not make sense so you capiatlize on the market if it is new somebody will buy it. Of course most people think they have to get into major department stores not true it is a myth. There are millions of people looking for good merchandise As a matter of fact most want quality and price but it can be done.

It depends on your product and your reputation. There are some brands that have been able to change their marketing and position themselves differently such as Burberry which used to be more of a middle class brand as opposed to a luxury brand.

There are also some brands that have managed to penetrate the market in a short time period and establish a reputation for quality and stylish goods. You can owe this to a combination of quality, style and marketing and sometimes just luck.

Yep....and i think somehow the quality is not directly related to brand names.....e.g. Burberry.....in fact, the quality is not that good........

Dear Honindco,
I would agree with you to certain extent, but not fully. Maybe your argument applies fully with the garments and the men. I as a woman has launched my new range of pearl jewelry around 8-9 months back under a fresh brand and threw it open into the Indian market, believe me it was an instant success. I took it to parts of Europe with certain improvisations matching the local tastes and styles, believe me i have done very well there even. You may call it luck but I have different ideas. What I would like to stress is that its your determination, your business acumen and the understanding of the market dynamics - and you are thru. I don't know you may not agree.
