how to start a business

im new to this and would like to know how to import goods like toys,ladies garments, novelties from china, thailand and what are the duties, min order or would also like to meet some people already importing into india

I suggest find local experienced exporter/importer in this catagories. 2nd you can start with ebay wholesale for those products. If you are in india check website www.ebay.in it highly recommended for beginner in business. Learn the coubtry and law and market, you find here in alibaba. China Profile.

Hello there,
Well, currently in India you can sell pretty much anything, so no worries there, you just need a proper outlet to sale your goods.
As for importing into india, you will essentially need a import-export number, but for that you need to have a company first. Initially you can just go to your CA, ask him to get you the import-export number or also the known as the IEC (import-export certificate). In there you will have to choice either to specialize on 5 items, or on 40 items, initially I suggest 5 is best, its cheaper.
So you can take Apparel, Houshold, Electrical, etc. This 3 catagories already include everything that you mentioned in here.
Once you have done that, you will need a good forwarding agent. Whatever item you want to import into India, get the definition from your supplier, and show it to the Forwarding agent, he will tell you then what the import duties and procedures are.
Thats all. Simple.

the chamber of commerce of your local city to obtain necessary documents before you start an Import and Export Business.After you have all the necessary information handy then ordersome samples of items of what you want to sell from Gold pass or Truspass members.From there you are for the race.
