Thanks for your great suggestion! We are recently taking some measures to control obvious fake company postings, delete them before they can be published. And on the other hand, we have always been considering something similar to what you said "a feed back or a testimony page". But of course, it taks some time before it can really be performed. Anyway, your opinion is always appreciated!

A "feedback or a testimony page". can only be used to grade up the trust to good suppliers !
Scammers are looking for a quick one time business, than change the name and open a new site with different details( sometimes they are so impudently and change only the Company name)
As I recommended many times, why not request a copy of an ID Card or Passport, so that the numbers can be compared !
No real and honestly member will refuse this !
It is not a 100% protection, but it will make it uncomfortablly for scammers to open a new site when the old is even closed !
Nobody has the possibility to provide unlimited proofs of ID, when the old once can be used for complaints to the local Police !

I agree with you, but in the other hand still its not the 100% foolproof, cause their no way to verify the national ID card or passport that they are genuine, so theirs fifty chance, any one know how to use adobe Photoshop can make an ID or passport within minutes,

Of course a scammer can do everything, but if you do nothing, you invite them to open ten or twenty memberships as some have now.
Nothing is perfect as you can see in some cases with paid Trustpass or GoldMembers.
But if you have hurdles, some scammer will despair.

I agree with wilhelm, providing your passport or drivers license when you register with Ali baba to be requested.
Also, people around here keep saying that this and that aren't 100% fool proof, there is nothing out there that can make it 100% fool proof. A person can provide you everything you want, be honest and then one day he totally cracks because of something at home, goes in rage, and scams people. You can't control a person's mentality or future actions, you can just stop the one's who's goals are to scam you, and want to commit 1st degree scam as I call it.

I don't think that asking for ID or passport number is such a good idea for there more and more people get indentity thef. I for one would not giving my I D and Passport number out that easy. But to help fighting the scammer. Alibaba could invite member that been around for more that a year in this site to joint the Anti-Scam group with in their country to help verified free member that joint in that should help clean up some of these scammer. (Scammer is every where) let do our part and help fight them.

the information from a ID copy and the number extra, should not be for public use. It should be kept save in Alibabas database.
Where is the problem for you ?
It is the easiest way to get some of the scammers out here, if they run out of new identities.
Without a proof like this or similar, everyday and everyday scammers open new accounts, as much as they want.
If you have a look in the sectors mobile phones, I-Pods and computer, I will bet with you that 50% minimum are fakes !

Replying to [wilhelm]:There are no data base is safe from hacker. I see too many of them happen in US. There is no guaranty that Alibaba could keep the info safe.
So why risk it. Easier to ask the member to help and serve the whole community. Like yourself could be the leader of the group in Thailand, for my self I love to serve in the NW of US. That way we all do our little part and help each other.
