Along the line of trade, you will always pop into one of these or you wish to become on.
Each on them has an advantage and a disadvantage.
To sum up, briefly what each is:

Broker: Doesn't have physical stock of products, usually uses customer's money to place an order with their supplier. Shipping time is usually longer then buying directly. But broker's profits are higher then an agent's.

Agent: Doesn't carry any physical stock. Doesn't need to discuss much with customer, just need to direct to supplier, and contact supplier about this customer. You don't have to accept any large sums in the transaction to your ****. Warranty's or shipping is not any of your part. Profits are worked on a percentage, and usual profit is 3-5$ a unit.

Everyone can add what they want to the definition, I just briefly brain stormed a few things.

I would like this to go by with a vote, place your vote in, what you think is a better position.

I say Broker.

It depends on the country of operation and the local laws. but agents are better. they are more useful and help the customers more.

I believe being an Agent is better. While the profits may not be as high as a broker, it sure is a lot less headache. If you are dealing with lare quantity orders the profit can still be very worthwhile.

Street Smart's agent can be classified as exclusive distributor of a supplier. Distributor usually get necessary support from the supplier. they don't need to worry supply side of business, but need to spend efforts and money to develop market and find buyers.

Broker can be unexclusive distributor or trader who have to work hard on both supply and demand ends. Usually they are experts in a field knowing both ends of game. Importantly they provide value added severvices in the supply chain.

I don't think there is generalization one is better than another. But I can say it would be the best if you set up your company flexible enough and play both roles for different products.

Good luck to everyone
