Was trying to post an selling lead for some brand name products. End up receiving emails requesting documentations about how I got authorized?

I understand this is a way to prevent scammers, but even my company have an business account with the authorized Apple distributor, they only sent us emails confirming our account has been set up and ready to use! can email use as valid documentations? our account was set up ages ago, and who will keep such emails when your account are already up and running?

This also prevents me from selling grey market goods.

Welcome any advice.

That is only an confirmation email about the account being set up. My points was unless the authorized distributor willing to issue a formal letter stating we are allow to purchase and resell their products, then nothing from my side could be given as documentations for copy right issue relate to my sell lead.

On the other hand, email could be fate so easily.

Replying to [Start]: If you are buying from an authorized Apple Distributor they must have you sign an Apple Re-Seller Liscencing Agreement. If this was not requested by them then you are buying from a Re-seller only!!!! Therefore you would not be an authorized and liscenced re-seller, and have no way to prove it. As you say only a letterhead from the Re-seller naming you as a buyer would enlighten a buyer that you were selling the Orginal Apple Ipod. However, showing a buyer this letter will also reveal your source. Allowing the buyer to buy direct from your supplier.

Replying to [Ranger]: Maybe it is different in US than in Aus. Apple Ipods can be purchase by non-authorized resellers, while notebooks etc can only be purchased by authorized resellers. In this case, we are buying from Apple Authorized Distributor, where every registered business in Aus could buy ipod from them with small amount of margin.

Just saw the new ipod, hopefully we could get some too!

Replying to [Start]: As to the specifics you could be right but, the fact remains that if you were to show a letter to a buyer what will keep them from going around you the next time and directly to the distributor? IM also trying to get you to think about that fact. You may want to see if your supplier will sign an NCND/FPA with you and as well with the buyer.

On the other hand, authorized distributor are so easy to find, it only takes a phone call.
