On the one hand, your customer does not understand that few Chinese suppliers have facilities to accept credit cards. On the other hand, you do not understand that credit cards are normal "cash" in most other countries.

Both you and your customer are in an impossible situation. It will cost your customer maybe $20 to T/T say only $20 to you for the samples or to his agent near you.

Although it is not yet so easy in China, maybe have a talk with your bank about getting facilities to accept credit cards from western customers. It will help your business if you sell a lot of samples. From your customers' view it is so much easier for them to pay for small purchases by credit card.

In background, nearly everything is paid by credit card in the west these days. Your average western person carries only about $100 in cash in their wallet but the average person also carries about four different credit cards on which they have purchasing power of about $10,000 per card. In effect they might have about $40,000 spending power in their wallet of which only $100 is in cash. If you want to tap into that $40,000 spending power you must get credit card facilities.

A tiny little western person looking at starting a business might not even have any real cash at all. They might just have only their credit cards and there's nothing wrong with that in the micro scheme of things in the west.

Credit cards are so extensive that "something is wrong" if a western person doesn't have a credit card. For example, a western hotel would look on a western customer as "suspicious" if they wanted to pay by cash rather than by credit card. The hotel prefers to be paid by credit card because they have a record of the guest's identity if the guest stole the TV etc from the hotel room.

Replying to [cecilia840502]:
Cecilia,

Tell your Indian client that Chinese company can't accept foreign credit card. Ask him to pay either CASH or ask his Guangzhou agent to pay, sice he gave you his agent's phone No.

Credit card is widely used in western countries, but in China, except larges stores or hotels, not any single company or factory can accept it, especially for foreign credit cards.
