Hello. I was going to buy some tshirts (maybe 1-2,000) but thought about how do you know if they will be thin and flimsy tshirts or thick and quality? What do yo ask for when requesting a quote? What is the average cost for a tshirt printed with a design on cotton? 1 dollar/shirt, less? Thanks in advance.

Replying to [allie]:Hi Allie.
You need to tell the manufacturer exactly what you want.
Usually 180 gsm (grams per square meter) is a fairly good, quality T-Shirt.(You can get anything from about 120 gsm to 220 gsm) Also tell them if you want 100% Cotton or Cotton/Polyester (35%/65%). Also tell them you want PRE-SHRUNK cotton, that way when washed it will only shrink about 2%.'
Hope this helps

grigo is right, those tips are very useful to make sure what you want. as you are looking for printed T-shirts, my advice, please ask for samples. after you receive the sample T-shirt please laundry them several times and see wether the color is saved well. because some printed T-shirts loose their color after first and second laundry.

Good Luck.

I think you must tell the mill the size & weght of t-shirt you need, then you will get the qute very easy. for the other inquiry, you'd better show the factory. Hope will give you some help.

You should always demand a sample first and thoroughly launder it. That way, you can check the quality yourself. Always get samples and test them before placing orders. I use 185gsm as the weight for my t-shirts. I would not suggest anything below 140 gsm.

how to find thin or thick ? with the gsm

quality : combed cotton gives quality

What do yo ask for when requesting a quote? Give the specifications  Size, quantitiy, colour, print,GSM etc: also state FOB or C&F or CIF

What is the average cost for a tshirt printed with a design on cotton? 1 dollar/shirt, less? Thanks in advance. The unit price deponds on the quality, quantity, country of origin, size of the factory, port from which you are importing.
