With the development of china, many foreign clients are going to find their buying or sourcing agent in china, to help them to find the new items, to collect samples, to negociate with suppliers, to inspect goods, to arrange shipping and so on. As the agent, how much we should charge our client is reasonable; and as the buyer, how much you can offer to a buying agent? These days i have been facing such troubles, many foreign clients ask me to act as their agent, but i don't know how much i should charge them. Pls contact me here or below contacting information.

Replying to [Jay1]:Dear Jay1, It is too high, i think! Each time, i give my client with less than 10%, they still think it is too high.
Jayi, what is your business, have you acted as the agent for your client?
Thanks

Replying to [Sandy-tan]:
Most of the time you can get a % out of your customers and also a % out from your suppliers. You are looking at around 5 to 6% depending on the volume of the purchase. The more you charge then less people come to agents and brokers.

Replying to [Sandy-tan]:
First of all, just depends on the volume.
Normally, it will be charged 3-5% in Hong Kong but I have no idea for the Mainland China. Maybe it can be hgiher to 7-9%...

Replying to [Sandy-tan]: Depends on what services you're ready to provide to your clients as buying agent. can you tell us what services you're willing to provide to your clients. I'm from Pakistan and I'm also thinking about coming to china for buying... I'm looking for some agent who could help me buy men's apparel from china...
normally agents in china charge 2 to 5% of the value of purchase depending on the amount of purchase...

Replying to [Sandy-tan]:It all depend upon quantity, amount of product and competition. If the quantity is less but feasible to import, I think even 15 to 20% is fare.
Nevertheless if the quantity is quite huge, dont lose the deal even if you have to reduce your margin to minimal
