Post 1 of 20
I am clothes seller in korea. Sometimes, I got inqueries like " Are you selling "korean" wears..? And, I said.. "Of course, I do." But,
after showing some photos, they said.." This is not korean wears. they are just normal clothes anywhere."

Replying to [JMS wei]: Is that really korean wears..? actually, that kinds of styles can be made sufficiently by china makers or others. Sometimes, I feel some gap between chinese customers' demands and korean wears.

Yes, Chinese young girls like Korean and Japanese styles, but not completely same. Such styles have to design and suit Chinese taste.

Replying to [Perry]:Go to the Lotto Departmental store and take a survey.
While I was in Korea (South of course), I realise the younger generations of Koreans are following the styles and fashions of the West, especially American Holywood filmstars.

One of my church pastors started a boutique, and the business is a booming success, because they concentrate on the niche to bring in designer's clothes. These are very expensive jackets and jeans worn by film stars.

Before, my mind set was the Korean traditional dress of the HOMBOK, but this not even the clothes people will wear in the subway or on the street. Another trend is leather jacket, or synthetic leather jacket and thick overcoat for the men in winter.

Korean film stars has not identity of clothes, most like the American designers clothes.

Replying to [Perry]:Replying to [Perry]: Well, in my mind there are several characters of Korean fashion. 1. Korean fashion use mild cloth: that means: if they use twill cotton, they would like it to be brushed and washed, so that the material turns out soft, very comfortable to feel. 2. As to the color, Korean also would like those mild color, examples: pink is more popular than crimson, whitesmoke is more popular than white. 3.The style of Korean fashion is very subtle, delicate. Also with very complicated and careful designed details such as lace decorated collar. 4.Arrange: delicately decorated t-shirt & short jacket, relative delicately designed (even more than 10 pieces of cloth to make a shirk) skirt is very cl *. Delicately decorated t-shirt, woolen skirt, and simple, decent long outwear is also very popular Korean fashion arrange.

Viewed professionally, textile technology is highly developed. Character of each kind of cloth is carefully studied. Also, appropriate used of each cloth.

Replying to [Perry]: Hi Perry,

I think what they mean when they say Korean wear is the traditional design Korean clothing, not western design clothing.

I have a question for you. I'm looking for a Korean jeans manufacturer who has a brand called 'Jumoney'. They may also be under the name 'inde 31' or 'Yeumigo & inde 31'. Are you able to help me find the contact details for this manufacturer? Or can you suggest someone who can help me? Please email me the info at

I can help you with info in Sydney, Australia if you need it.

I think you are right..many non-korean gals are interested in Korean fashion after watching many korean drama series and movies. To us, korean fashion is like very feminine, dainty and sweet with a lot of details like what is worn by the actresses.

Of course, sometimes there are casual wear but unless they are outstanding, otherwise we won't take notice. For example, the drama 'princess hour' got many gals interested in wearing tights with mini skirts..and also the accessories featured in the drama are hot items too..like the snowflake earrings in princess hours, winter sonta star necklace etc...

However, I know Korean gals don't wear such femine stuff everyday..I only know it when i went to korean for holiday..majority wear pretty casual stuff..and their fashion trends are inspired from West..

There's this website www.korean-fashion-online.com which has a lot of current Seoul street wear fashion..go take a look and you'll be surprised at what they wear is so different from what we perceived! [em10]
