Quite an important observation. It is true that the fabric / workmanship along with consistency in supplies / quality / rates will be a factor which is prevalent in the Indian markets, provided the one time importer or a small buyer would be interested in such matters as quality etc vis a vis price, which for most buyers is of prime importance.

Replying to [MikePTY-HK]: Definitely Indian Quality is far better than chinese not only in fabrics but for all material. In fact consistancy in quality & supply is the major key for Indian Exporters leading the textile industry. However the proce may be slightly higher but the customer will get the value for his money.

Replying to [MikePTY-HK]: Hi. I am Saravanan from India. Yes you are absolutely correct. The quality of Indian Fabrics are much better than Chinese Fabrics.
The price is at par with China in case of 100% Cotton Fabrics of any kind. Synthetics and blended fabrics cost more in India.
But all are custom made in India with required width, weightetc. But you have little choices in these from China.
India can give you fabrics of any width even by 2" variations like 40", 42" .......up to 120". And any small quantit is undertaken on a customised design, size etc. Hence this might cost a little extra. but it is worth.

Replying to [Saravanan]: I am from India and it is good to see so many positive remarks about Indian products. But most of the comments have been posted by Indians. It would be good to see what the buyer countries say. I hereby request the buyer countries to give their opinion here.

Fabrics are more from India, but keep in mind that shipping is less coming out of India. And if from the USA you also do not to worry about quota if coming out of India. So be sure you add in those extrras such as quota and shipping when comparing the prices.
I think quality changes from company to company. I have an EXCELLENT company I work with out of China for my polyester fabrics. And I have an EXCELLENT company I work with out of India for my cottons. I have also had swatches and samples from both countries that were sent that were very poor quailty. I think that is something that depends more on the individual companies more than the countries.
I have to really hunt to find suppliers who will work with my smaller (but fastly growing) business. So I think all the digging I have to do leads me to businesses who are willing to offer more, go the extra mile....but I have to say that with all things added in my prices come out very close and I have quality products comeing from both places.

We are dealing silk fabrics. I don't think the quality in india is better then Chinese. Indians import large quantity silk fabrics from China. I think, their prices are not cheap.

I think it depends on the custoer, the customer's requirement is unique and we can not use the same product to suit them. Some customer from india also buy a lot textile fromchina in a cheap price than so they have the best price in appearence. In china, we are establishing our own brand to change the status of our product, so the products are different from India, China are changing the role in the world, which also need the help and understanding of our customer. All in all, Everything is changing.
And I very happy to receive your enquiry. Glad to meet you!
