Replying to [Weikee]:Yes, they are scammer!!! We have been there.
Everything seems to be fine. They close huge purchase contract
afterwards they ask you to buy a big present. This is to show the good partnership. They promise to pay 30 % in advance by T/T.
When you have left Guilin nothing will happen. No answers and no more business.
Look at the different b2b-platforms where they are also registered
and check their year established (is different):
- tread leads at. = 2005
- toboc.com = 2003

We are sure they are big scammer and they are doing the business
in form of getting some commission (on paintings / hotels / sightseeing
etc.).

Beware and don't do any business with them. If you know some other suppliers please send your warning. It is important to stop such a kind of crime! Extremely dangerous

Please write your next experiences via Alibaba.

PS: they are listed at a l l b2b platforms around the globe!!

Hi

While I was searching for T/T contract with China I read your question.
I am the Seller who have received same kind offer from Guilin Shengjin Investment.

They order large amount which is quite attractive

I actually visited them by myself. I had same kind of worrying with you so I brought my mobile with GPS system so that my people in my country can check me where I am . (who know ?? right?)

They asked me if I want they will reserve the room for me but I reserved the room myself. Just before I get on the plane I called their office and they said I have to come with our president.

They also asked how many member will vist and where I booked the room..such stuff..

I asked them pick me up at airport.

One of their member who has been contacted with me showed up
and took me at the Hotel where I booked .
I asked to introduce some cafe for dinner but she said I should eat dinner at Hotel because she didn't want to take any response of my safety.

The next day I met all people included CEO at their office and I showed sample.
We have meeting twice regarding to contract for 4days staying.

I got the contract but I didn;t sign on it because
I didn't really agree with the terms of condition.

The ceo of Guilin company told me that he has to meet our compay's president. I have to come with oue President again.

Also, as we signed on the contract some of their member from account team will visit our company and factory and they will
send 50% of Invoice value

The second day, the ceo asked me if I want to trip or visit around city they would help me . I did't want because I have to deal with other buyers with internet or email.

Meanwhile, I was working on , another buyer from small city of China
contacted me(like Guilin company) and they asked normal question.
They ordered same amount of Guilin company which quite BIG.

Week after back come back from guilin , new buyer asked quotation and Invoice
And then...they asked me visit their office to make acontract.

I thought it 's strange,,

NO OFFENSIVE~!!!

I was wondering why chinese buyer asked us to visit their office.
If I was buyer i would go to manufacture to check all things.
am I wrong...

Any ways

I feel that Guilin is quite safe city as long as I stay in downtown.

However, what I was really worrying is that the only payment.

They suggested 50%(T/T)of first pay after they receive the all original shipment documents they will pay remaining of 50%.

I heard that in China , they can find the all container without Original
B/L.

I guess this is the most what our company is concerning.
They don;t want L/C.

Thses are not supposed be our main concern. we should check what is the main business of this company .

if they are travel agency....hummmm
if they are real buyer they should have a detail what we are using normally.

BUt Now,, my visiting was not so related trade business.
Maybe they are the travel agency... I am not sure..but...
I think this contract never close.

Visiting them was quite OK. They are quite nice.

I haven't get any bad result . Of course we spent time and money

If you more question about it let me know.

I may give the atmosphere of their company.

Even if your post is 6 months dated, I want to provide a help for people reading and finding the same request from some chinese companies.
The type of scam is the following:
the company is not existing really, they invent a name which is similar to some other really existing. They also rent an office for some times and invite you there to sign the contract.
They do not insist so much for discounts, neither for viewing samples, they only insist for you to go there and sign the contract. Once there they sign a very rich contract with you, appearing like a real company. After the contract sign (or sometimes immediately before) they just ask you to make some gifts for the Managers to execute the contract. They tell you that it is a chinese tradition, and they ask you for a precise amount for gifts (like 3 to 5,000 usd), in money or other (wines, cigars, hi-fi or anything)
Then you come back home, and when you try to get in touch with those people to start executing the contract, you will find that they are not answering anymore to phone, fax or anything. They are simply not existing as a company...
So it is a very common and cheap cheat, made by street guys...

They contacted me too. They want to purchase my products in nice amounts. But they didn't actually agree to price offered. I proposed them a quantity discount, but they didn't answer yet.

The thing I worry about is that they do not exist on alibaba.com anymore - at least I couldn't find them.

It's a pity, I'd be really glad to go to China :P

Still don't get, why such assholes do exist... no idea.

Take care people, beware: there are 1000s of them :/

p.s. can you tell me what was the name of the person that contacted you?

This sounds all very similar to another Scam which we almost got involved with. In case anybody gets involved with the following company then throw it away! I also went to see these people and wish I had looked at this forum first.

We negotiated a contract before we left and saw them in their offices, we signed a contract for a large order and then they took me to an Art Gallery to say I had to buy a present for the Financial Director.

I refused to buy the present, the cheapest was about USD$7,000!

The Finance Director then came to visit me himself and started telling me that I HAD to buy him a present as it was a Chinese tradition! I then said that I have a Chinese partner in our company and I will consult with him when I get back so let's hounour the contract. He was very p*ssed off but then said he would pay.

We are not giving up on this we have a contract with a company seal. They obviously can't afford to buy the products they ordered but we are very keen to expose these guys, we're looking at legal action and contacting our government officials - did you know that this sort of stuff is a capital offence in China!

Replying to [Weikee]:This company approached me by email. My sample is arrived now in China and after reading the experiences of others about this company on this site i talk to my shipping company today to prevent the delivery. I have not a good feeling about it anymore. I first had to think twice to take this stap to send a sample. They are so kind, but don't want to pay nothing first. They also invite me to China and promise to do business for a large amount. I am glad that this is only a beginstadium. I really hope the shipping company can stop the delivery and return the sample back. Because the sample has value. I don't want to take the risk. Thank you for the warning. Next time i will look overhere first. You are all very helpfull.
