Quoting from [S McB]:
Can i pick the brains of any experienced importers.
At the moment i buy goods that are excempt from UK tax and source other goods from the UK.
Say i was to import 10 small electrical goods weighing about 12 kg would this be seized at customs. Or would this be delivered straight to my door?

Why not?If you ask your supplier to "fudge" the paperwork on one small sample order, your supplier will believe you are dishonest. You are also asking your supplier to be dishonest. This is a bad way to do business. The correct method is for the supplier to include an Invoice for true value of the goods but stamp or write on the Invoice "Free Sample".The Invoice is important in law because it is the document which transfers ownership of the goods from the supplier to you.In law, you may not get legal ownership of the goods if the Invoice is a deliberately false document for an unlawful purpose.
