Milan, Italy - July 24 2006 In collaboration with the Italian Association of Foreign Trade (AICE), Alibaba.com hosted its first "Open Sesame" event in Europe. The seminar attracted 80 Italian buyers who came to hear about the e-sourcing tools and challenges, as well as Alibaba.com's buyer tools. Alibaba members Mr. Spaggiari, VP of WTC, and Mr. Megani, Director of Messarini S.R.L, shared their buying experiences on Alibaba.com: what tools they use when looking for a product or a supplier, how Alibaba helps their businesses and why they like working with Gold Suppliers in particular.
A lively Q&A session allowed the audience to share tips and experiences. The discussions were continued in a more informal atmosphere during the post-event cocktail reception hosted by Alibaba.com.
Testimonials
"I am here today to share my experience as an Alibaba buyer. I joined Alibaba.com five years ago. When I opened the website a new world opened to me! I have found many suppliers on the platform and closed many deals. I mainly import imitation gold leaves for decoration purposes. Initially, there were mostly suppliers from China but it became a global platform with suppliers from all over the world. I use Alibaba.com mostly to find suppliers from China and I really like the Gold Suppliers community as it gives me more trust to work with them.
I go on Alibaba.com every day! I like the buying tools available to us and I often use the "post buy lead' tool as it allows me to collect a large number of quality feedbacks from suppliers. I recommend buyers to use Alibaba platform to find suppliers, and I recommend them to take time to learn and use all the sourcing tools available". - Mr. Magani
"I have been an Alibaba member for two years. When I received the invitation about the Alibaba "Open Sesame" event, I decided to attend it to have the opportunity to meet with the Alibaba team and to learn more about how e-sourcing can help my business grow. I found the seminar very interesting and I especially liked the fact that it was an interactive event with buyers sharing their experiences and ideas with the audience. I found the presentation of Abir Oreibi also very interesting as it covered many key points". - Danilo Cascapera
