Replying to [Resources]:To be able to move Air Freight in the United States one must be an IATA approved agent (http://www.iata.org). Information on becoming an accredited IATA agent you can go to http://www.iata.org/whatwedo/cargo/cass_agency/accreditation.htm You must also be TSA Approved as an IAC (Indirect Air Carrier) in order to be a forwarder of Air Freight and be able to use common air carriers. Information about this can be found at the www.tsa.gov website at http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/aircargo/index.shtm
In order to become a forwarder of Ocean Freight one needs be NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) licensed. Information on the process of becoming NVOCC licensed can be found at http://www.fmc.gov/ which is the Federal Maritime Commision website.
I hope this helps.
