Fraud Case Study 11 - Avoid receiving inferior products

Case Description:

"I ordered some metallic laminates from a supplier in China. I ordered 1 FCL of metallic laminates from this company. Before that I had ordered some samples from the company. The samples were very good, so I placed an order and sent the money. When the metallic sheets arrived, all the sheets were of a very low quality and 25 % of the goods were damaged. All the products were very poor when compared to the samples. I asked the supplier to provide me with compensation and to refund my money but they did not respond to my emails. Moreover, when I called they would not listen to me".

Analysis of this case:

1.Make sure you do a thorough inspection of the company before you trade with an International company: a Factory Audit; Production Inspection; and a Pre-shipment Inspection conducted by a third party company are very important if your company is ordering a large quantity of goods from a company. This is the best way to protect your interests and reduce the risks involved in international trade. This is why, currently, more and more big buyers seek assistance from local inspection companies.

2. To protect your financial interests, use a secure payment method, such as L/C. You should also sign a business contract with your trading partner. You may also ask for a written guarantee ensuring that the products you order will be of the same quality as the samples you received. If you do have to request a refund or take a company to court, this will be strong evidence.

3. If a trade dispute occurs, try better communication with your trading partner. Most disputes are solved after discussing problems directly. Negotiate with your partner and try to find a reasonable solution. If the dispute cannot be solved after negotiations, try to get legal support to aid mediation.

am very upset with the recent transactions I have encountered on this website. My first one was a guy who said he had original phones and he was from the UK. I sent him money through western union, but never heard from him again. His company was Jones unlimited selling cell phones. Be wary of anything from the UK.
2) Next transaction, I was trying to by phones from a company Hengwang Trade Co from China. The lady that I dealt with did not verify my shipping address and thought that my city "ca" was my country. She sent my product to Canada. Before, I asked her to send me the product to the right address and she told me that the company will not send another till they recieve the other one. So, I recently e-mailed her to see if she received the product and she asked me "what is my meaning?" Now, I don't know if I will ever see my product. It has been almost two months and I still have no product that I paid for.
3) The third transaction is with a company called Kingpower Trade Co. They told me they were going to send me Original Apple Itouch Ipod 8 GB in the quantity of 5. I paid them through western union and they sent me FAKE Apple Ipod nana 4 GB. They do not even work correctly and I have no use for them, since I can't sell them. I am still dealing with them about this and it is almost one month now. I am trying to get the correct product that I ordered. My suggestion is to only order 1 thing from a company that you have not used.

Alibaba will not do anything about this and take them off unless we take these companies to court!

I wish there was a way that we can rate these companies so that other people will not get screwed!
