Be cautious of scam quotations from your potential suppliers

Recently, we have received many reports from our members about scam quotations. Although you will appear to be receiving a quotation from a paid member, you will actually be receiving a fraudulent quotation from a scammer. These people are conducting fraudulent activities after stealing the accounts of our paid members.

Tips for members to identify this kind of scam:

1. Scammers will claim “This is a paid advisement please don’t contact using Alibaba, just using the contact below” in their quotations. Since scammers are using stolen accounts to conduct fraudulent activities, they will request buyers to contact them via their personal email address instead of Alibaba’s feedback system.

2. Scammers will quote low prices for high-tech products. Scammers quote extremely low prices to lure buyers into contacting them.

3. The contact details scammers use in their quotations are different from the registration information of the stolen accounts.

4. Scammers will guide buyers to visit their website. Generally speaking, you will find it is an Egyptian website by its domain. 

If you receive a quotation from one of our paid members that is the same, or similar, to the example above, it is mostly likely that your potential partner may be the victim of account theft.
