How to protect your account

  • Don’t respond to fraud emails which ask for your personal information, such as your Alibaba Member ID and password, email address and password, credit card information or any other personal information.

  •  Avoid filling out forms or clicking on links in any emails that ask for your personal information. Remember, Alibaba will never ask for such information in an email unless you contact us first with account problems.

  • Don’t click on unknown links received from people through Instant Messenger or email. Always run an anti-virus software program and scan suspicious documents, pictures, links received from others to avoid possible damage to your computer.

  • Consider installing an anti-spyware program on your computer, to monitor for various types of malware that may be missed by an anti-virus program.

  • Create a different password for each online account you hold. Avoid using the same password for your Alibaba account and your email account.

  • Keep all passwords private and don’t share them with others.

  •  Change your password often, at least every 30 to 60 days and don’t save your password on your computer.

  • Don’t save your password on your computer. If you cannot remember your password, write it down with your Member ID in your notebook and keep it secure for later reference.

  • Don’t use public computers to sign into your account. Always sign out of your account if you are using a public computer.

  • Before entering your Alibaba password, make sure you are signing into a genuine Alibaba Website. Always open www.alibaba.com and sign in to your account.
