San Jose, California, USA– July 1, 2005 Alibaba.com wrapped up its participation at eBay's fourth annual community conference - eBay Live! 2005. In celebration of eBay's 10th anniversary, this year, eBay Live! took place in eBay's hometown in San Jose, California, from June 23rd to 25th in San Jose McEnery Convention Center. With the theme "The Power of All of Us," the event brought together more than 10,000 members of the eBay community from around the world who came to network, attend classes, executive panels, labs and discussions to learn services geared toward online buyers and sellers and ways to be more successful on eBay.

Alibaba.com held its daily private cocktail receptions in the presidential suites of both the Hilton and Marriott hotels adjoining the San Jose McEnery Convention Center.
At the receptions, Alibaba.com set up Internet workstations and conducted daily presentations to introduce Alibaba.com's online marketplace to visitors. 1,670 eBay Live! attendees, mostly eBay sellers and PowerSellers, visited Alibaba.com's receptions during this 3-day event to learn how Alibaba.com can help eBay sellers source products directly from reliable manufacturers in China, reduce product costs and in turn improve profit margins selling on eBay. Other topics covered in Alibaba.com's daily presentations include global sourcing trends, tools and challenges, online trust and safety issues and solutions.
To illustrate how Alibaba.com is an ideal sourcing platform for eBay sellers, Alibaba.com also gave away thousands of MP3 players at the receptions and let recipients guess the unit cost of these MP3 players if they were sourced directly from a factory in China.

Many visitors at Alibaba.com's receptions came forward and identified themselves as Alibaba.com buyer members. Some even shared their success stories and happy experiences using Alibaba.com's online platform to source products for their businesses on eBay.
Mr. Steve Gibson, CEO of Skyabove in Temecula, California has been an eBay seller for three years and an eBay PowerSeller for two years. Ever since Mr. Gibson discovered Alibaba.com a month ago, he has been on Alibaba.com daily for his product sourcing needs. He is in the process of negotiating and finalizing an US$23,000 deal with an Alibaba.com Gold Supplier seller member in China.
"We sell jewelry and consumer electronics products in our eBay store. Running an eBay business is time consuming. We spend the majority of our time looking for new products to sell. Alibaba has been like godsend. So far we haven't had an incident that we cannot find products that we look for on Alibaba.com. Alibaba is perfect for us!" Mr. Gibson happily told Alibaba.com staff at the reception.
