New York, USA - On Feb 25, 2005, more than 70 companies involved in import and export gathered at The Williams Club in New York city to attend the seminar "Sourcing from China – Online or Off?" organized by the National Association of Export Companies (NEXCO).
Two panel speakers, Annie Jie Xu, Director of Marketing & Business Development at Alibaba.com and Anthony Boas, Partner at The Janssen Boas Company, along with the Moderator Ken Nadler, Vice President of Sterling National Bank spoke to the audience about available online and offline tools, the challenges and lowering costs for U.S. businesses when sourcing from China. Other topics such as how to select factories, quality control, inspection, logistics coordination and payment safety in China were also covered during the two and a half hour seminar.
In Annie Jie Xu's presentation, Annie described how Alibaba.com's online marketplace, products and services could help shorten the sourcing cycle and overcome current online trust concerns.
