On Nov 14th 2002 - The Japanese Kobe City and Alibaba.com jointly organized a business-matching meeting between Japanese buyers and Chinese suppliers at the Global Plaza, Shanghai. Eight Japanese buying groups attended the meeting with a hope of finding quality suppliers matching their sourcing needs for over 30 product series ranging from construction material, fire protection, to lamps and lanterns.

The rain did not decline the ardor of the suppliers. From 9 am in the morning a big number of Alibaba "China Supplier" from Zhejiang and Jiangzu arrived at the business-matching event. Most of Alibaba members have already attended similar Alibaba events and consider such face-to-face meetings with Japanese buyers very valuable.

The business-matching event was a success for the participants who held intense discussions and negotiations. The Japanese buying companies showed great interest Alibaba Suppliers and left the meeting satisfied.
