Alibaba.com - Alibaba.com CEO Jack Ma met with some 300 leading executives from around the world in Hong Kong for the second annual Forbes Global CEO Conference, which runs for three days from September 24 to 27.


The Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Mr. Tung Chee Hwa, gave an opening keynote presentation and participated in "A Meeting of Minds" session together with the President, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Forbes, Mr. Steve Forbes; and the Chairman of Forbes, Mr. Caspar Weinberger.

The conference focused on a range of crucial issues such as "Global perspectives: A world united or a world divided?"; "Avoiding Asia's Enrons"; "The new China entrepreneur"; "The practical impact of China's WTO accession", and "Challenges and opportunities associated with new technology".


In the years of 2000 and 2001, Alibaba.com was named by Forbes magazine as "Best of the Web: B2B", the only one from China. In September 2001 at the declaration of its choices, Forbes alleged that the 100 Best Webs were selected from thousands of B2B Websites worldwide. The criterion include Web development strategy, strategy execution and finance security, etc.

And in July of 2000, for the first time Forbes magazine chose an entrepreneur from China, Jack Ma, founder and CEO of Alibaba.com, as its cover character. Forbes Senior Matthew Schifrin said to CNN: "We think this website has great potential. Businesspeople from all over the world come here to buy and sell various merchandises, like piston of India, kidnap of the Netherlands. It's a wonderful market."

Forbes magazine, started publication since 1917, has the longest history in American business and finance magazines, in possession of over 1 million readers, most of which are entrepreneurs.
