Rio Tinto seeks Chinese mining partner
Global mining company Rio Tinto Plc has interests in cooperating with Chinese state-owned enterprises including Aluminum Corp of China for the development of mining projects

Apr. 7, 2008 (China Knowledge) - Global mining company Rio Tinto Plc has interests in cooperating with Chinese state-owned enterprises including Aluminum Corp of China<601600><2600><ACH> for the development of mining projects worldwide, a senior of the company said on Friday.

The company is seeking partners with plentiful capital or strong on infrastructure as many remotely-located mines need quite a number of infrastructural constructions, company CEO Tom Albanese said.

Rio Tinto has made a great success in mineral exploration, with the discovery of world-class new mines, according to Albanese.

In February this year, Aluminum Corp of China and Alcoa Inc jointly acquired 12% stake in Rio Tinto Plc.
