Protect your Alibaba account against Fraud Emails
Author: Admin

Recently we have been notified that some members have received fraud emails from scammers intending to steal their Alibaba login ID and password. To view one of these recently reported fraud emails, go to: http://www.alibaba.com/trade/servlet/page/static/safetrade/samples_070322.

These emails often direct you to a fake website that looks similar to Alibaba.com and asks for personal and/or account related information. These fraudulent emails often stress account closure or downgrade if you don't immediately provide credit card or account details.

What You Can Do

If you think you may have been a victim of email fraud, contact our service team by email at alibaba@alibaba-inc.com or by phone at 0086-571-88157806. You can also sign-in to My Alibaba and confirm your account status.

Fraud Safety Guidelines

  • We will never ask for your password or personal information in an email unless you contact us for your account problems.
  • Alibaba emails always contain your personal Member ID at the bottom.
  • Learn about the typical signs of fraud emails. Click here.

In The Future

  • Avoid filling out forms in any email that ask for sensitive information.
  • Don't click on suspicious links, instead type URLs into your browser address bar.
  • Always check the email footer (at the bottom) for your Alibaba Member ID.

Did you know? Fraud emails usually contain HTML links that look genuine, but hide their actual URL address. To avoid being directed to fake websites, you can always manually type www.alibaba.com into your address bar and begin your visit from our homepage.

Remember, the best tools for fighting fraud are awareness, education and vigilance. We encourage you to remain cautious whenever providing sensitive information, be it in an email or to a potential trade partner.

Just received this one this morning. Don't you wish these people would find something else to do? It has to take a while to build a site that looks just like Alibaba. I have a ranch and need some cattle hands. Maybe cleaning out some barns would be a good job for them? [em3]

I sure hate to see these people ruining what should be a great site and a good sales tool for all of us just wanting to make an honest living!

Blame the school system in the world nowadays. They make everybody work behind a desk with a pen and paper. Instead of practice makes perfect, everyday in school they are being taught to play pretty words, just look at the lengthy paragraph they are writing.
