   This helps you narrow matching results by member business type.
   • What is Business Type? Business type means the primary role the company engages in within its trading sector. Alibaba.com currently recognizes five major business types: agent, buying office, distributor/wholesaler, manufacturer and trading company.
   • What is an Agent? A business person or company who buys or sells for another in exchange for a commission.
   • What is a Manufacturer? A producer of products.
   • What is a Distributor? A businessperson or company that markets or sells merchandise.
   • What is a Wholesaler? A wholesaler sells products in bulk to various retailers and then receives a percentage of the mark-up price. In other words, a wholesaler buys directly (and usually rather inexpensively) from the manufacturer and then arranges a deal with a retailer who desires to purchase the same product.
   • What is a Trading Company? A trading company, like an agent, is the party between a buyer and supplier/manufacturer that arranges for the production and shipment of products.
